TCCRA Rnd. 2- Malakof, TX - Mar 2008

Hey guys, last weekend I headed down to Malakof for the 2nd round of the TCCRA series. Practice was a little wet on Saturday, with a few little water holes in the low areas of the track. After practice, I went back and made a few minor adjustments to the race bike to get it ready to go. We lined up Sunday, with 16 pros on the line and everybody was gunning for the hole shot. I got a really bad start, and had to push really hard to catch up from the very beginning. By the time I got back into 2nd place, Charley Bogard had opened up about a 45 second gap on me by the end of the first lap. Dad gave me the pit board to let me know where he was, and I put my head down and pushed harder trying to make up time. I rode mistake free pretty much the whole race, but never gained any time up on Charley. By the time the race was over with, I ended up a little over 2 minutes down from Bogard. After the race was over, my dad came back to the van and told me that somebody was putting a protest up on Charley because they saw him cut the track. After a long discussion, the officials decided that he did cut the track and that they were going to dock him a lap. After all this went down, it gave me the win! I was pretty ecstatic when I heard this because I rode really well, and knew something wasn't right with the times. As of right now, I’m 2 for 2 at the TCCRA Series posting two wins, and holding the points lead. However, I can't race all the races because some of them conflict with the OMA National Series. Anyways, this coming weekend I’m headed to North Carolina for the 3rd round of the GNCC Series, and hopefully I can carry over all the momentum I have right now. Thanks for all the support! Talk to you soon.

Until next time...

Matt
